Shuang Cheng

Shuang is a practicing patent attorney, with an IP practice spanning over 15 years. He focuses on patent application, prosecution, invalidation and litigation in the fields of mechanical, electrical engineering, electronic, computer science and material science.

Shuang has supported on numbers of well-known European and American companies. His working languages are German, English and Chinese.

He leads the German client team.

Work Highlights

• Advising a leading German machinery and equipment manufacturer on the long-term monitoring of its competitors' products and potential infringements in China and taking appropriate legal action, including but not limited to submission of third-party observation, invalidation, infringement assessments, etc.
• Successfully obtaining patent right of an important invention application for a semiconductor company from Taiwan, the prosecution phase of which lasted for over ten years, with multiple responses, reexamination and administrative proceeding.
• Contributing to the European Patent Office’s study of the Chinese utility model system, covering the establishment, development, current status and future prospects of the Chinese utility model system, thereby helping European patent owners to gain a deeper understanding of the relevant Chinese patent system.
